Senior Software Engineer (fulltime)

What are you going to do?

Within the engineering department, the software engineer will be appointed as one of the four specialists. In your field, you are thé expert of the organization and you are responsible for managing and performing Software engineering and (further) development within one of DMT’s own PLC software and SCADA platforms. In this role, you are in charge of the design and management of all developments in the field of control and control software and SCADA systems. You will coordinate various (self-established) projects in which work is done within a multidisciplinary team on the development and realization of new innovative products. Activities will include creating and testing concepts and designs, guaranteeing progress, performance, quality and safety in projects. You keep a close eye on developments in your field.

Our customer relationships are very important to us, therefore you are customer- and service-oriented and able to translate trends and signals into the development of (new) processes and products. You will work closely with and train your colleagues within your own team and those of other departments. Keeping a close relationship with our suppliers, partners and customers will be an important role in your position. Before and during commissioning, you test the software and record your findings in reports (FAT / SAT). In addition to the project-based activities, you are able to act as a Software Specialist for the Service department. In this role, it is your responsibility to initiate and implement software modifications to existing installations.

A broad technical interest and capability of carrying out your work in a team and independently are significant in this position. You have a positive critical attitude with everything you do and you always go for a good result. You see it as a challenge to help DMT develop our products, to a cutting edge standard, helping us move into the future.

What do we ask of our Software Engineer?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Control technology / process technology / Electrical and Instrumentation, Mechatronics or similar (e.g. through working experience);
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Biogas, Oil & Gas or Agriculture industry and affinity with renewable energy and environmental technology;
  • You are creative, result and solution oriented;
  • You have extensive technological knowledge, experience with process installations and control technology;
  • You have extensive experience with PLC systems from Siemens and Allen Bradley. Preferably have knowledge of Vispro, Ignition, Siemens and / or other SCADA visualization systems;
  • You have experience with (industrial) networks and data communication;
  • You are a self-starter, able to work individually and as part of a team;
  • You are customer-oriented and have good coordinating and communication skills;
  • You are willing to travel for work;
  • You speak and write English perfectly and (possibly) German in addition to Dutch.
